Halloween treats to wow your guests

October 27, 2016
Halloween is the time for tricks, treats, ghosts, ghouls, vampires, and zombies to all come out and roam the earth. Not only is Halloween the time for trick-or-treating, but it's also a great time to throw a spooky Halloween party with fun Halloween treats. Your Halloween party food can make or break a party, so here are a few fun Halloween treats to serve at your next party as the trick-or-treaters stock up on their candy.

Rice Krispy Treat Monsters
Rice Krispies are always a fan favorite, so why not throw a Halloween twist on them and turn them into a spooky Halloween treat?

Rice Krispy treats (you can make these by scratch too if you want)
Melting chocolate in different colors
Candy eyes

1. Unwrap all of the Rice Krispy treats (or pre-make your own)
2. Melt the different colors of melting chocolate. We'd suggest doing one color at a time.
3. Dip one end of the Rice Krispy treat into the melting chocolate. Do different lengths of dipping it in.
4. Stick candy eye balls on them in goofy patterns to make them look like monster eyes.
5. Allow to dry and serve.

What a great and easy Halloween party food to spook the kids and adults alike.

Witch Brooms
This is probably the absolutely easiest and fastest Halloween party food that you could make, but will be loved by all of your guests.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups mini, individually wrapped
Small pretzel sticks

1. Unwrap all of the peanut butter cups and put into a bowl.
2. One at a time, turn the peanut butter cups upside down and stick a pretzel stick into the bottom of it.

That's it! So simple, yet a great Halloween treat that your guests will love to eat.

Strawberry Ghosts
The ghosts have to make an appearance in your Halloween party food. They're just too fun to replicate not to.

30 fresh strawberries
8 ounces Baker's Premium White Chocolate Morsels, chopped
1 teaspoon shortening
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
¼ cup Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

1. Wash strawberries and pat dry.
2. Melt white chocolate and shortening in microwave at 50% power, stir until smooth. Stir in extract.
3. Dip strawberries in chocolate mixture; place on waxed paper-lined baking sheet, allowing excess chocolate to form the ghosts' tails. Free for five minutes.
4. In microwave, melt remaining chocolate chips, stir until smooth. Dip a toothpick into melted chocolate and use it to draw two eyes and a mouth on each ghost.

There are many ways to spice up your Halloween party food and make fun Halloween treats for your guests, but ghosts are always a crowd favorite.

Desserts worthy of celebrating on National Dessert Day

October 27, 2016
Nothing tops off a great meal like a delicious dessert, whether it's chocolate or ice cream or anything in between. So why not celebrate National Dessert Day with one of Shooter's Wood Fire Grill's delectable desserts during the month of desserts? Shooters offers a dessert menu that has something for everyone and is affordable enough to add onto the end of anyone's meal. Here is just a taste of the desserts you can celebrate National Dessert Day with.

Seasonal Tart
Not a fan of chocolate? No problem. Shooters Wood Fire Grill offers a seasonal tart that is reminiscent of the summer months. The flaky tart is served with rich cinnamon and brown sugar ice cream and drizzled with caramel. A rich, yet satisfying dessert.

Chocolate Fantasy
This dessert is for those of you who don't mess around with your chocolate. Why not celebrate National Dessert Day with a chocolate lover's dream. This moist chocolate cake is cooked in a mini bunt cake form and is topped with molten fudge and delicious, smooth vanilla ice cream.

Peanut Butter Pie
Two things that go best together in the dessert world: peanut butter and chocolate. This rich, decadent chocolate topped peanut butter pie combines those two things perfectly, along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce drizzle.

Bread Pudding
A traditional dessert that is nevertheless delicious and always worth having. Our famous bread pudding recipe is known throughout the area as one of the best desserts around. It is served with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel and topped with whipped cream. Nothing could be more perfect for National Dessert Day.

Ice Cream Nachos
Last, but certainly not least, our popular ice cream nachos are a very unique dessert treat that few places have been able to copy. Flour tortilla chips are deep fried and tossed in cinnamon and sugar. Those chips are then topped with cinnamon and brown sugar ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry on top. It's the coming together of everything perfect in desserts.

Don't miss celebrating a holiday like National Dessert Day. We'd even encourage celebrating it every day to get a taste of every dessert that Shooters Wood Fire Grill has to offer. Stop in today for dinner and dessert; we'd encourage dessert first. Read More...
